Just a day after a Xbox Live massive outage, Sony’s PlayStation Network has been having problems for several hours. The problem for this purpose is a little different, and based on reports, it may only affect some games. Sony PSN Status Page reports that “you may have difficulty launching games, applications, or network features” on platforms such as the PS Vita, PS3, PS4, and PS5.
Some people had difficulty logging in online to play Call of Duty: Warzone or Minecraft, while other games like Fortnite seem accessible. When I tried to access a few games on my PS5, Fall guys worked, but Call of Duty and AllStars Destruction could not connect to matchmaking. The service status page says this problem started around 6:33 p.m. ET, but online gamers have noted issues several hours before and a look at DownDetector displays problem reports as of 1 p.m. ET. At least in this case, it looks like most people won’t have to log out to try and play their games, and may just have to change titles until this is resolved.
